New for Fall 2025, the EMT Pathway prepares students for a fast-paced career in emergency medical services. Through two years of hands-on learning, clinical experience, and college credit opportunities, students gain the skills needed to save lives and succeed in healthcare.

Program Structure
Two-Year Sequence (4 Semesters)

- Anatomy and Physiology
- Medical Terminology
- Health and Wellness
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMS 1015)
There is no Concurrent Enrollment credit available for the 1st semester of this pathway.
Year 2
- EMT Fundamentals (EMS 1021)
- EMT Medical Emergencies (EMS 1022)
- EMT Trauma Emergencies (EMT 1023)
- EMT Special Considerations (EMT 1024)
- EMT Clinical Experience (EMS 1070)

Requirements and Prerequisites
This pathway is primarily open to 11th and 12th grade students.
- Students must be 16 by March 1 of the first year they are in the pathway.
- Students must complete Algebra I or higher prior to entering this pathway.
Students with high school IEPs or 504 Plans who are participating in this program, please read the information from Aims Community College Disability Support Services (DSS) about accommodations.
Aims Community College DSS department determines all accommodations on a case-by-case basis. Students in this pathway are considered college students, and therefore fall under college accommodation policies.
